{"id":3612,"date":"2018-05-09T10:38:38","date_gmt":"2018-05-09T14:38:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvlatina\/olympic-channel-grupo-globo-sign-distribution-partnership-brazil\/"},"modified":"2018-05-09T11:37:29","modified_gmt":"2018-05-09T15:37:29","slug":"olympic-channel-grupo-globo-sign-distribution-partnership-in-brazil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvlatina\/olympic-channel-grupo-globo-sign-distribution-partnership-in-brazil\/","title":{"rendered":"Olympic Channel &#038; Grupo Globo Sign Distribution Partnership in Brazil"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new partnership has been formed between the Olympic Channel and Grupo Globo in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>Starting in August, viewers in Brazil can watch both Olympic Channel original programming and Olympic-related content from Globo during Olympic Channel-branded broadcasted programming hours, on Globo\u2019s free-to-air TV shows, such as the weekly magazine show <em>Esporte Espetacular<\/em>, and SporTV\u2019s news program on pay TV and also on a dedicated Olympic Channel digital portal on globoesporte.com.<\/p>\n<p>Programming will feature year-round coverage of Olympic sports and athletes, highlighting locally relevant content produced by both the Olympic Channel and Globo.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement runs through 2032, which bolsters Globo\u2019s media rights agreement with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Brazil for the Olympic Games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving launched following the 2016 Rio Games, we are excited to collaborate with Globo to further engage Brazil\u2019s passionate sports fans with the Olympic Movement all year round,\u201d said Mark Parkman, general manager of the IOC\u2019s global Olympic Channel. \u201cDeepening the connection between the Olympic Channel brand and the stories about the athletes and sports their audiences love contributes to the lasting legacy from the Rio Games.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pedro Garcia, Grupo Globo&#8217;s head of sports business, added: \u201cIt\u2019s an honor to sign with the Olympic Channel after the successful results on our coverage of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and the latest worldwide event, the Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, in February 2018.
