Of all the new programs that launched in Latin America last month, Orgulho e Paix\u00e3o<\/em> on TV Globo in Brazil stirred up the most buzz on social media, according to The WIT.<\/p>\n

During the first episode, the 20th century-set telenovela inspired by the world of author Jane Austen garnered some 21,200 Facebook and Twitter comments.\u00a0The show takes place in a society where marriage is considered the only possible future for a young woman from a good family, giving Of\u00e9lia Benedito many reasons to worry.<\/p>\n

Tenemos Wifi<\/em> on KZO Entertainment in Argentina came in second with 19,400 social media remarks. The entertainment show presented by the couple formed by Flor Vigna and Nicol\u00e1s Occhiato features a mix of light news and trends on social media, as well as music and humor.<\/p>\n

On Televisa’s Canal 5 in Mexico was Reto 4 Elementos<\/em>, which secured around 20,200 tweets. The reality competition challenges 32 celebrities to take up all kinds of physical challenges to show that they are able to master the four elements: air, fire, water, earth.<\/p>\n

Over in Brazil, Malha\u00e7\u00e3o\u2014Vidas Brasileiras<\/em> on TV Globo earned approximately 14,000 social media comments. The local adaptation of the soap 30 Lives<\/em> aired in Canada on ICI Radio Canada T\u00e9l\u00e9 from 2011 to 2016, and the 26th season of the comedy-drama Malha\u00e7\u00e3o<\/em> broadcast on TV Globo follows a teacher in a high school and the issues her students are encountering.<\/p>\n

Verano del ’98 \u201c20 A\u00f1os\u201d<\/em> on Telefe in Argentina saw some 10,700 tweets. The special episode celebrating the 20th anniversary of the launch of cult series Verano del ’98<\/em> reunited its cast members for the first time.<\/p>\n

Also on Argentina’s Telefe was Sandro de Am\u00e9rica<\/em>, which garnered around 10,000 social media remarks. The biographical series chronicles the legendary career of Roberto S\u00e1nchez, known as Sandro, who is considered to be the “Argentine Elvis.”<\/p>\n

Back in Brazil, Melhor da Tarde com C\u00e1tia Fonseca<\/em> on Rede Band earned approximately 7,800 tweets. The women’s magazine show comprises sections on fashion, cooking, showbiz gossip, lifestyle and more.<\/p>\n

On Chilevision in Chile, Mary & Mike<\/em> drew in about 7,300 social media comments. The thriller series set during Pinochet\u2019s dictatorship is based on the true story of a seemingly ordinary Chilean family, in which the parents are actually secret agents planning political terrorist attacks around the globe.<\/p>\n

Educando a Nina<\/em> on Azteca 1 in Mexico collected some 3,600 tweets. The local version of the romantic telenovela Educando a Nina<\/em> tells the tale of two identical twin sisters who were separated at birth and are now forced to live each other\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n

Coming in at number ten was Ten\u00edas que Ser T\u00fa<\/em> on Las Estrellas in Mexico with around 3,000 social media comments. The telenovela adapted from the Chilean scripted format Ambar<\/em> is about Marisa, whose old acquaintance from the past comes back to cause trouble in her life.<\/p>\n
