{"id":3220,"date":"2017-01-17T11:57:24","date_gmt":"2017-01-17T16:57:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvlatina\/globos-first-original-production-for-global-market-among-natpe-highlights\/"},"modified":"2017-01-17T14:15:10","modified_gmt":"2017-01-17T19:15:10","slug":"globos-supermax-among-natpe-highlights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvlatina\/globos-supermax-among-natpe-highlights\/","title":{"rendered":"Globo Showcasing First Original Series for the International Market"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MIAMI: This morning at NATPE during its traditional screening breakfast, Globo showcased its 2017 catalog, which features <em>Supermax<\/em>, the company\u2019s first original series for the international market.<\/p>\n<p>Shot in Spanish and directed by Argentine filmmaker Daniel Burman, <em>Supermax<\/em> is a co-production between Globo and Oficina Burman, with Mediaset (Spain), TV Azteca (Mexico), TVP (Argentina) and Teledoce (Uruguay) as strategic partners. A trailer of the series featuring unreleased footage was presented at the breakfast. The psychological thriller takes participants to a reality show inside a maximum security prison.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are bringing a completely innovative series to the market, for its production model and its genre,\u201d said Raphael Corr\u00eaa Netto, Globo\u2019s executive director of international business. \u201cThe Brazilian version captured a different audience profile. Right after the first episodes, we noticed the increasing number of young people watching the series. We also observed that, on our digital platforms, <em>Supermax <\/em>maintained a high retention rate throughout all episodes, which demonstrates the story\u2019s potential.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Globo\u2019s slate also features telenovelas, other shows\u00a0and films. In addition to <em>Supermax<\/em>, the series Globo has on offer include\u00a0<em>Above Justice<\/em> and <em>Nothing Remains the Same<\/em>. Telenovelas in the catalog are <em>Total Dreamer<\/em>, <em>Time After Time<\/em>, <em>Wounded Past<\/em>, <em>Lady Revolution<\/em>, <em>Burning Hearts<\/em> and <em>Rising Sun<\/em> (working title). Among the feature films are titles such as <em>Along Man <\/em> and <em>The Moving Forest<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Corr\u00eaa Netto attributed the productions\u2019 global appeal to their broad profiles and innovative storytelling. \u201cIt has to do with the Brazilians\u2019 ability to reinvent themselves and grasp the diversity of cultures Brazil is made of\u2014a colorful, multifaceted country and its optimistic people,&#8221; he said. &#8220;That is why, for more than 40 years, our stories have been able to adapt well anywhere in the world. That is also why Globo is able to innovate and reinvent itself, always providing its audience with the best in terms of content generation. We are all passionate about communication and we believe that we can only grow together with a joint effort.
