CANNES: NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises has set up Telemundo International Studios (TIS), a new internationally focused production unit dedicated to creating high-end, short-form, scripted formats.<\/p>\n

Led by Marcos Santana, the president of Telemundo International, the new unit will work to develop and produce innovative Spanish-language short-format content.\u00a0Santana collaborated in the creation of Telemundo Studios and\u00a0has been\u00a0part of\u00a0its development committee since its inception.<\/p>\n

\u201cTelemundo International Studios\u00a0will tap into an international growth opportunity at a time when Telemundo is delivering unprecedented ratings performance and has established itself as the number one Spanish-language broadcast network in prime time in the U.S.,\u201d said Cesar Conde, the chairman of NBCUniversal International Group and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. \u201cWith this new production unit, we will continue to innovate and raise the bar in original Spanish-language content production in the U.S. and abroad.\u201d<\/p>\n

Santana added, “The launch of Telemundo Internacional Studios is a representation of the growth of our division, which further develops the expansion of our offer, increasing our catalog and distribution opportunities for markets and platforms that demand programming for a well-defined audience with established consumption habits.
