The presentations will be held at Rio de Janeiro\u2019s Museu do Amanh\u00e3 (Museum of Tomorrow) and will include broadcasts of the opening and closing ceremonies and several games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are still consolidating the migration of the TV viewers to HD digital TV in Brazil, but the technological evolution does not wait, and the Globo team have been studying the next generation of technologies for free-to-air TV,\u201d said Raymundo Barros, the CTO of Globo. \u201cSuch action reinforces the importance of free-to-air TV and its evolution to a more immersive experience with UHD.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Globo began its experiences in 8K with the 2013 Brazilian Carnival, and the following year with the 2014 FIFA World Cup, broadcasting live matches via fiber optic transmission in partnership with NHK.
