KNOXVILLE: Scripps Networks Interactive has appointed media and technology veteran Eduardo Hauser as managing director for\u00a0Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n
In his new post, Hauser will be in charge of the strategic direction and daily operation of Scripps Networks Interactive\u2019s businesses across Latin America, including Food Network, as well as the company\u2019s distribution across the Caribbean. He will be responsible for identifying and evaluating growth opportunities across the region. This includes potential new network launches, joint ventures and partnerships across multiple platforms and distribution channels.<\/p>\n
Hauser\u00a0will join Scripps Networks Interactive on March 7. He will report to Jim Samples, the president of international at Scripps Networks Interactive, and will be based in Miami.<\/p>\n
Prior to joining AOL as executive VP for Latin America, Hauser spent ten years with Cisneros, most recently as managing director of the office of the chairman. He has also held senior leadership positions with Cricket Media and Venevision. Hauser is credited with establishing the partnership between AOL and Cisneros that saw AOL launch in Latin America. He was also influential in creating the joint venture between Hughes Electronics, Cisneros, Mexico\u2019s Multivision and Brazil\u2019s Grupo Abril to launch DIRECTV Latin America.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Hauser developed two other businesses: Hauser & Co., an investment and advisory firm focused on media, technology, education and restaurants, and DailyMe, a start-up offering personalization technology focused on news.
