Lucero previously served as a coach in the first season of the singing competition <em>La Voz Mexico<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tTelemundo partnered with Spain&rsquo;s Reset TV to develop and produce the reality show. Castings for the program recently ended across major cities in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&ldquo;Lucero embodies the essence of what we call a true artist,&rdquo; said Jesus Torres Viera, the executive VP of programming at Telemundo. &ldquo;Her successful career in acting, singing and performing, together with her charismatic and charming on-stage persona make her the ideal MC for this revolutionary show.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&ldquo;I am extremely happy to be the host of [<em>I Am the Artist<\/em>],&rdquo; Lucero said. &ldquo;It is a powerful reality concept with all the necessary ingredients to discover great new talent and develop them. I love that aspect of the show. These types of programs are attractive for the audience and very important for so many artists who are waiting for a great opportunity.
