\n\tBUENOS AIRES: Felipe De Stefani has been promoted to general manager of Turner Internacional Argentina (TIA), the largest Turner office outside the U.S., retaining his responsibilities as senior VP and general manager of the company’s trend channels, which include TBS veryfunny, Infinito, truTV, HTV, GLITZ * and MuchMusic.<\/p>\n
\n\tAs general manager, De Stefani will be responsible for establishing the overall strategic direction for all of Turner’s operations in Argentina. Juan Carlos Urdaneta, the president of Turner Latin America, made the announcement.<\/p>\n
\n\tTurner Internacional Argentina is home to about 850 employees in the following business areas: programming, original production, content acquisition and sales, creative services, technology and operations, research, business development, finance, legal, marketing, public relations and human resources. Turner Argentina’s operating hub transmits 50 feeds to more than 40 countries, reaching 54 million homes across the region.<\/p>\n
\n\t“Felipe has performed an executive role in our office in Buenos Aires for eight of the 13 years he’s been with the company, with a period of five years in Atlanta, where he carried out the pan-regional marketing and new media for Cartoon Network,” Urdaneta said. “I am convinced that he has the corporate knowledge and implementation experience needed to lead our operations in this strategic center.”<\/p>\n
\n\tDe Stefani takes over the post at TIA from Whit Richardson, the executive VP of distribution and marketing for Turner Latin America, who will return to work at the company headquarters in Atlanta.<\/p>\n
\n\tIn addition to his new corporate responsibilities, De Stefani will continue to oversee the programming, creative services, new media, marketing, public relations and operations for TBS veryfunny, Infinito, truTV, HTV, GLITZ * and MuchMusic.<\/p>\n
\n\tDe Stefani joined Turner’s office in Buenos Aires in 2001 as marketing director for the Southern Cone, and quickly joined the supervision of the business development area. The company transferred him to Atlanta in 2003 as head of pan-regional marketing and new media for Cartoon Network and Boomerang.
