NEW YORK: Univision Communications has formed a corporate business development group, tapping Tonia O’Connor to serve as its president. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The initiative is focused around Univision’s growth and generating revenue opportunities by striking up new partnerships with companies looking to invest in the Hispanic marketplace. O’Connor will lead the group as the president of content distribution and corporate business development. O’Connor joined Univision in January 2008 as the executive VP of distribution sales and marketing. She will continue to drive Univision’s content distribution efforts, in addition to these new responsibilities. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“The creation of this group puts a laser focus on our efforts to expand our outreach to the many non-traditional outlets that now recognize the growth opportunity afforded to them by serving Hispanics,” said Randy Falco, the president and CEO of Univision Communications, Inc. “Because of the trust we have built with our audience, we are uniquely positioned to help companies make this important connection.”

\n“Since joining Univision several years ago, Tonia has proven her ability to develop and grow business in her current role as president of Distribution Sales and Marketing,” added Falco. “She has not only grown her core business, but has also implemented strategies to deliver on new digital and broadband opportunities.”
