BUENOS AIRES: FOX Sports is slated to air the CONCACAF Champions League exclusively in Latin America for five years.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The agreement, which includes digital and pay-TV platforms, begins with the 2012-2013 championship—scheduled to start on July 31—and will end after the 2016-2017 season. In Mexico and South America, FOX Sports will also have free-TV rights to the tournament.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Across its various multimedia platforms, FOX Sports Latin America will air more than 40 live and delayed games and will also broadcast extra coverage, including a weekly highlights program.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“Offering the world’s most prestigious championships and the best original sports live content to our fans in Latin America is FOX Sports’ main priority,” said Francisco Pazmiño, the VP of acquisitions at FOX Sports for Latin America.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Carlos Martinez, the president of FOX International Channels Latin America, commented: “We’re very pleased with this new agreement and relationship with CONCACAF. We are very grateful to them for having trusted us to broadcast this tournament for the next five years. We are confident that we’ll turn this tournament into a favorite and make it one of the strongest in the region, leveraging FOX Sports wide reach and the synergies of our entertainment, lifestyle and factual channels in Latin America, as we have already done with other Latin American and European events.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“Our agreement with FOX International Channels Latin America puts the CONCACAF Champions League in perfect position to grow and fans throughout the region will be able to enjoy the competition like never before,” added Jeffrey Webb, the president of CONCACAF. “With FOX’s many broadcast platforms and technologies, the Champions League will be presented in ways the fans want and expect.”<\/span><\/span>
