NEW YORK: Gustavo Cisneros<\/a>, the chairman of the Cisneros Group of Companies, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Advertising Educational Foundation (AEF) for his contributions to the improvement of education in Latin America. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Cisneros Group of Companies began its educational endeavors in the 1970s, when more than 300,000 Venezuelans were taught to read and write through the ACUDE program. Presently, the Fundación Cisneros manages several programs, including cl@se, a pan-regional educational channel in Latin America that provides programming for students, teachers and parents. <\/span><\/span>

\n<\/span><\/span>Cisneros stated: <\/span><\/span>“At the Cisneros Group of Companies, we have implemented impact investment by boosting quality in education through our programs. We have taken advantage of the opportunities provided both by media outreach, as well as new technology initiatives, and we have encouraged the work of teachers, empowering them as agents of social change, and providing them with new tools that enrich their work.”
