WWE’s John Cena to Host Nick’s 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards

BURBANK: WWE Superstar, actor and TV presenter John Cena has signed on to host Nickelodeon’s 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards, which will air live on Saturday, March 11, at 8 p.m.

This marks Cena’s first time hosting the show, though he previously presented Australia’s 2008 Kids’ Choice Awards and underwent a “sliming” in the first U.K. Kids’ Choice Awards. Nickelodeon’s 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards will celebrate favorites across film, TV, music, pop culture, animation and more. The show will come to viewers live from USC’s Galen Center in Los Angeles. It will air in more than 180 countries and territories.

“Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards is the biggest party for kids, and I’m so excited and honored to host this year’s show,” said Cena. “I have a lot of big surprises in store so bring on the slime!”

“John Cena’s energy and larger-than-life personality will bring the most excitement, comedy and fun to this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards,” said Shelly Sumpter Gillyard, the senior VP of talent and events for Nickelodeon. “He’s a big kid at heart, and we can’t wait to give kids around the world a front-row seat to this year’s show.”

Sponsors of Nickelodeon’s 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards include Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Hot Wheels, Nintendo, Skechers, Toyota and Walmart. The show is produced by Nickelodeon Productions. Elizabeth Kelly, Michael Dempsey, Shelly Sumpter Gillyard and Jay Schmalholz are executive producers.
