{"id":9730,"date":"2016-03-24T10:06:26","date_gmt":"2016-03-24T14:06:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/cottonwood-teams-with-zdf-zdf-enterprises-on-teen-drama\/"},"modified":"2016-03-24T10:07:28","modified_gmt":"2016-03-24T14:07:28","slug":"cottonwood-teams-with-zdf-zdf-enterprises-on-teen-drama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/cottonwood-teams-with-zdf-zdf-enterprises-on-teen-drama\/","title":{"rendered":"Cottonwood, ZDF, ZDF Enterprises Team Up on Teen Drama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PARIS: Cottonwood Media, ZDF and ZDF Enterprises have entered into a co-production deal on the weekly live-action drama series <em>Paris Opera<\/em>, marking the companies\u2019 first collaboration.<\/p>\n<p><em>Paris Opera<\/em> is a half-hour young-adult drama that follows Lena Grisky, a time-traveling ballet dancer from 1905 Russia who is trying to navigate the perils of adolescence in 2015 Paris. The series represents Cottonwood Media\u2019s first live-action show. It is currently in preproduction and is slated to premiere on ZDF in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The series will be produced on location at and with the collaboration of the world-renowned Paris Opera. Filmed in English with international actors, the cast will work with the Opera house\u2019s choreographers to make the dance aspect of the show authentic. Thus far, the creative team includes showrunners Jill Girling and Lori Matter Welch (creator of the Nickelodeon series <em>Ride<\/em>), producers Pascal Breton (founder of Cottonwood\u2019s parent company, Federation Entertainment, and producer of Netflix\u2019s <em>Marseilles<\/em>) and Cottonwood founders Zoe Carrera, Cecile Lauritano and David Michel.<\/p>\n<p>Nicole Keeb, ZDF\u2019s producer on the series, commented, \u201cChildren in France and Germany grew up with the series <em>L\u2019\u00e2ge Heureux<\/em>. This show shall recreate that fascination and passion for ballet.
