LONDON: U.K.-based CAKE, French CGI studio TeamTO and Belgium\u2019s Thuristar are rolling out the animated series My Knight and Me<\/em> at MIPTV in April.<\/p>\n

My Knight and Me<\/em> is a medieval comedy for kids 6 to 11 that follows the funny adventures of street-smart Jimmy the Squire, his best friend Cat the Princess and his father Henri of Orange, an inept but chivalrous knight. The 52×11-minute series is a spin-off of Thuristar\u2019s short film 850 Meters<\/em> by Joeri Christiaen, who is directing the series.<\/p>\n

The series\u00a0is the fifth production in CAKE and TeamTO\u2019s partnership, a creative relationship that has spanned nearly a decade and includes hits such as the Emmy-nominated Angelo Rules<\/em>. CANAL+ Family and T\u00e9l\u00e9toon+ in France, Super RTL in Germany, and VRT-Ketnet and RTBF-Ouftivi in Belgium have already signed on to broadcast the show, which is slated to debut on CANAL+ Family, RTBF-Ouftivi and Super RTL later this year. CAKE handles international distribution.<\/p>\n

With stories of knights, bad dragons, evil witches and emancipated princesses, there is a lot to love and laugh about.\u201d<\/p>\n

TeamTO\u2019s executive producer and founder Corinne Kouper commented, \u201cJoeri has created a totally original universe which reimagines the world of fairy tales, allowing for a fun new take on traditional girls\u2019 and boys\u2019 stereotypes.\u201d<\/p>\n
