NEW YORK: Nickelodeon has unveiled the details for two new sports-themed series from production partners Rob Dyrdek and Shane Nickerson of Superjacket Productions, among a slew of other new and returning programming for this year.<\/p>\n
The new live-action series from Superjacket Productions are Crashletes<\/em> and Jagger Eaton’s Mega Life<\/em> (working title). The former is a viral sports clip show that will be hosted by the New England Patriots’s Rob Gronkowski, while the latter is a docuseries spotlighting\u00a0the titular\u00a015-year-old\u00a0skateboarding sensation. Both productions will each consist of 20 episodes. They are due to debut later this year.<\/p>\n \u201cNick has a long history in kid reality beginning with game shows like Double Dare<\/em> and Legends of the Hidden Temple<\/em>,\u201d said Cyma Zarghami, the president of Viacom Kids and Family Group. \u201cCrashletes<\/em> and Jagger Eaton<\/em> allow us to connect the audience via real and authentic people and a different kind of storytelling that is fresh and exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cPartnering with Nickelodeon allows me to share my passion for sports and pop culture with kids and families in creative and innovative ways,\u201d noted Dyrdek. \u201cWith Gronk\u2019s fun, big personality and Jagger\u2019s relatable, youthful insight, Crashletes<\/em> and Mega Life<\/em> will resonate with sports fans and kids alike.\u201d<\/p>\n Nickelodeon has also revealed\u00a0its plans for more than 650 episodes of new and returning series.<\/p>\n Among the network’s new preschool programming are Rusty Rivets<\/em> and Sunny Day<\/em>, which have been picked up for 26 and 40 episodes, respectively. Rusty Rivets<\/em>, created and co-produced by Spin Master Entertainment, is meant to expose young viewers to science, technology and engineering concepts. The animated show is slated to premiere later this year. Sunny Day<\/em>, created and produced by Silvergate Media, follows a hairstylist who uses determination and creativity to solve problems. Nickelodeon will also air new episodes of the returning preschool hits Shimmer and Shine<\/em>, Blaze and the Monster Machines<\/em>, Mutt & Stuff<\/em>, PAW Patrol<\/em>, Wallykazam!<\/em> and Dora and Friends: Into the City!<\/em><\/p>\n Nick’s slate of previously announced new animated series includes The Loud House<\/em>, Bunsen is a Beast!<\/em>, Mysticons<\/em>, Welcome to the Wayne<\/em> and Pink Malinky<\/em>. The channel will also air new episodes of the animated shows Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles<\/em>, The Fairly OddParents<\/em> and ALVINNN!!! and The Chipmunks<\/em>. In addition, Nick\u00a0renewed SpongeBob SquarePants<\/em> for seasons 10 and 11, and Harvey Beaks<\/em> and Pig Goat Banana Cricket<\/em> for sophomore\u00a0runs.<\/p>\n In the live-action arena, Nickelodeon renewed Henry Danger<\/em> for a third season and Game Shakers<\/em> for a second season, while\u00a0ordering a fourth installment of\u00a0The Thundermans<\/em>. In addition to Jagger Eaton’s Mega Life<\/em> and Crashletes<\/em>, new live-action shows headed to the network include the 20-episode Ride<\/em> (Breakthrough Entertainment and Buccaneer Media), about a girl who relocates to England with her father, who was hired by an equestrian boarding school, and The Other Kingdom<\/em> (DHX Media), a 20-episode series centered on a fairy princess who takes human form to enter the mortal world. Previously announced new live-action series include School of Rock<\/em>, All In with Cam Newton<\/em> (formerly I Wanna Be<\/em>), The Dudas<\/em> (formerly Homeroom<\/em>), The Ludwigs<\/em> and I Am Frankie<\/em> (working title).
