BEVERLY HILLS\/GLENDALE: Netflix and DreamWorks Animation (DWA) have expanded their current multiyear agreement, making the streaming service the global home\u2014outside of China\u2014to a number of new original series produced by the studio, including one from acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro.<\/p>\n
The deal includes the streaming rights to the DWA feature film library. It extends the rights of current original kids’ shows from the studio available on the service in operating Netflix markets, and is also expanding to include second-window rights for the series everywhere in the world, excluding China. Titles include The Adventures of Puss in Boots<\/em>, Dinotrux<\/em> and Dragons: Race to the Edge<\/em>, to name a few. Beginning this year, Netflix will debut DWA’s reimagining of the Voltron<\/em> franchise, as well as Trollhunters<\/em>, a new fantasy series from del Toro about two friends who make a surprising discovery underneath their hometown.
