{"id":9126,"date":"2015-12-10T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-12-10T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/dhx-on-board-new-drone-competition-series\/"},"modified":"2015-12-10T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2015-12-10T00:00:00","slug":"dhx-on-board-new-drone-competition-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/dhx-on-board-new-drone-competition-series\/","title":{"rendered":"DHX On Board New Drone Competition Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tHALIFAX: DHX Media has been commissioned by CBBC in the U.K. to produce two seasons of <em>Airmageddon<\/em>, a drone competition series that is also slated to air on DHX Television&#039;s Family CHRGD in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em>Airmageddon<\/em> will look on as the &quot;Magnificent Kids and Their Flying Machines&quot; put their aerial skills to the test in a competition featuring state-of-the-art remote-controlled drones. The 24&#215;22-minute show is being produced by DHX in association with Conceive Media. Global distribution will be managed by DHX Media, while DHX Brands will oversee the property&#039;s licensing and merchandising.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em>Airmageddon<\/em> is due to debut on CBBC in the new year and on Family CHRGD in spring 2016. The show will be hosted by Will Best and Rachel Stringer. It is created by Steve Carsey&nbsp;(<em>Robot Wars<\/em>, <em>The Match<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>\n\tCheryl Taylor, controller of CBBC, said: &quot;<em>Airmageddon<\/em> is going to be a high-octane entertainment extravaganza testing our young contestants to the limit as they battle to determine which team can claim ultimate mastery of daring drone-control skills.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&quot;The entertaining, competitive and unpredictable nature of <em>Airmageddon<\/em> makes it a natural fit for Family CHRGD&mdash;a network that takes everyday adventures and makes them extraordinary,&quot; noted Michael Serafini, the VP of programming at DHX Television. &quot;With video games top of mind for a lot of kids, the integration of gaming technology into programming combined with the competition element positions this show to be popular with viewers and contestants alike.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>\n\tKen Faier, the senior VP and general manager of DHX Studios, added: &quot;We&#039;re really excited by the series which combines excitement, creativity and skill in a thrilling aerial competition.
