\n\tLONDON: CBBC won channel of the year and production company Somethin’ Else took home three trophies, among them a win for independent production company of the year, at this Sunday’s British Academy Children’s Awards.<\/p>\n
\n\tThis year marked the third time CBBC was named channel of the year. Somethin’ Else also won in the Interactive: Adapted category for The Dumping Ground: You’re the Boss<\/em>, and received a second successive win for Poetry: Between the Lines<\/em> in the Learning: Secondary category. Meanwhile, Katie Morag<\/em> and Old Jack’s Boat <\/em>both received second consecutive wins in the Drama and Preschool Live Action categories, respectively. The Amazing World of Gumball<\/em> collected its third BAFTA for Animation, the sixth for the show overall.<\/p>\n \n\tDouble-act Sam and Mark (Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes) celebrated a win in the Presenter category for the second time for Sam & Mark’s Big Christmas Wind-Up<\/em>. Jessica Ransom, meanwhile, was successful in the Performer category for her portrayal of Mary Queen of Scots in Horrible Histories<\/em>, the seventh award presented to the series.<\/p>\n \n\tThe BAFTA for Factual went to I am Leo (My Life)<\/em>, a documentary following the life of a transgender 13-year-old boy, Leo Waddell. Paddington <\/em>won for Feature Film, while Nintendo’s Splatoon won in the Game category. Disney’s Gravity Falls<\/em> won the International category, with Gigglebiz<\/em> being honored in the Comedy category.<\/p>\n \n\tThe remake of Clangers<\/em>, narrated by Michael Palin, nabbed the Preschool: Animation award.
