\n\tLONDON: Seasoned TV producer and writer Jocelyn Stevenson is slated to receive a BAFTA Special Award at the British Academy Children's Awards ceremony in London on November 22.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe award is meant to recognize an individual's outstanding contribution to the kids' media and entertainment industry. Stevenson has worked in children's television for more than three decades as a writer, creator, producer and executive producer. She began her career on Sesame Street <\/em>and spent several years as a writer and producer for The Jim Henson Company. Stevenson was also chief creative officer at HIT Entertainment, creative director at TT Animation and executive creative producer for film and TV projects at Mind Candy. She served as a council member and chair on BAFTA's Children's Committee from 2001 to 2009.<\/p>\n \n\tIn addition to Sesame Street<\/em>, Stevensons' credits include Fraggle Rock<\/em>, Charlie Chalk<\/em>, Jim Henderson's Ghost of Faffner Hall<\/em> and The Animal Show with Stinky and Jake<\/em>, among many others. In 2013, she co-wrote and co-produced the feature film Moshi Monsters: The Movie<\/em>. She is currently working with Katie Bell at their new company developing a multiplatform, global initiative for kids between the ages of 7 and 11.<\/p>\n \n\tHelen Blakeman, chair of BAFTA's Children's Committee, said: "We are delighted that Jocelyn Stevenson is this year's Special Award recipient. In the 20th anniversary of BAFTA's Children's Awards, Jocelyn has been integral to the children’s television, film and games industry over that time, creating well-loved favorites and iconic brands.
