\n\tHONG KONG: The latest installment of the long-running Dragon Ball<\/em> franchise is set for a pan-regional launch in Asia on the Turner kids’ brand Toonami in mid-2016.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 52×30-minute series will be titled Dragon Ball Super<\/em>. Its exclusive first-run premiere has been slated for Toonami in Southeast Asia and India, where it will also have its English-language world premiere. The show is the first Dragon Ball<\/em> TV series to be produced in nearly two decades.<\/p>\n

\n\tDragon Ball<\/em> creator Akira Toriyama will oversee the series, which is produced by Toei Animation in collaboration with Fuji Television.<\/p>\n

\n\t“This announcement is huge for fan boys and girls in Asia,” said Mark Eyers, the chief content officer for Turner’s kids’ networks in the Asia Pacific. “Dragon Ball<\/em> is undoubtedly the original and world’s biggest anime export, and is a cornerstone of our programming on Toonami. Since the channel launched in 2012, Toonami has been airing episodes of Dragon Ball Z<\/em> and Dragon Ball Z Kai<\/em>, and to premiere Dragon Ball Super<\/em> demonstrates the channel’s continued commitment to securing must-have and must-see content, first on Toonami.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
