{"id":31346,"date":"2026-02-17T11:35:21","date_gmt":"2026-02-17T16:35:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/serious-kids-picks-up-cloth-cats-first-ip\/"},"modified":"2026-02-17T11:54:30","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T16:54:30","slug":"serious-kids-picks-up-cloth-cats-first-ip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/serious-kids-picks-up-cloth-cats-first-ip\/","title":{"rendered":"Serious Kids Picks Up Cloth Cat\u2019s First IP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Serious Kids has picked up the worldwide rights, excluding Welsh-speaking Wales, to Cloth Cat\u2019s first IP, <em>The Ghost of Midwinter<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Funded entirely through S4C, the Creative Wales Skills Fund and Cloth Cat,<em> The Ghost of Midwinter<\/em> is set in medieval Wales, where a young girl must save her father\u2019s life against all odds.<\/p>\n<p>The special is written and directed by Jon Rennie, with music composed by Brollyman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuilding on Cloth Cat\u2019s experience producing and animating series like <em>Shane the Chef<\/em>,<em> Luo Bao Bei<\/em> and<em> Dave Spud<\/em>, this is our first original broadcast film and wholly owned IP,\u201d Rennie, managing director of Cloth Cat, said. \u201cWe hope this will be the first of many more Welsh stories. This is our first collaboration with Serious Kids, and we look forward to working with them!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe fell in love with the classic nature of this special, featuring a strong heroine who achieves everything she set out to do and more,\u201d commented Genevieve Dexter, founder and CEO of Serious Kids. \u201cThe star performance of the ghost, coupled with the stirring music and gorgeous background,s makes this an important film for us.
