WildBrain is planning to bring the classic Strawberry Shortcake to life in CG animation for the first time via a live-action\/animation hybrid baking show, micro-shorts, full minisodes and lo-fi ambience videos.<\/p>\n
\u201cStrawberry Shortcake is a true icon, beloved by generations around the world,\u201d said Erin Morris, VP of strategic global franchise and retail at WildBrain. \u201cThis evolution blends the nostalgia of Strawberry\u2019s classic bonnet-and-bloomers style with CG animation and storytelling designed to captivate both new and long-time fans across generations and geographies.\u201d<\/p>\n
The new digital content slate includes The Berry Best Baking Show<\/em>, a 12-episode live-action\/animation hybrid show for kids ages 4 to 8. The first four episodes will premiere weekly on YouTube beginning March 19, with the second batch of four beginning their weekly rollout on May 14. The final four will begin to launch on July 9.<\/p>\n The new slate also includes 26 CG-animated shorts of 3 to 4 minutes each, set to roll out on YouTube later this year, as well as 52 CG-animated micro-shorts of 15 seconds each starring Strawberry and her cat Custard. The micro-shorts will begin dropping weekly on YouTube and other social platforms on February 5. Also, lo-fi ambience videos will debut on YouTube on February 5.<\/p>\n To go along with new content, the Strawberry Shortcake<\/em> franchise has continued to expand its footprint in the toys and games sector with new licensing partnerships. A global collaboration with L.O.L. Surprise! has introduced the L.O.L. Surprise!
