Sesame Workshop has begun a new global program in partnership with Abbott to promote healthy routines for children and their caregivers, beginning with a new 26-minute special on YouTube.<\/p>\n
In Elmo\u2019s World: Dance Party!<\/em>, available on the Sesame Street YouTube channel in the U.S. now, younger viewers can learn new dance moves while learning about healthy habits as Elmo, Grover and friends host a dance party. Aubrey Plaza guest stars as Ms. Noodle.<\/p>\n The special will roll out in India, Mexico and Brazil in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n In addition to the special, the new program uses a combination of research-based multimedia resources and in-person community outreach. Multilingual resources, available on the Sesame website, include the Sun\u2019s Up, Sun\u2019s Down <\/em>storybook, featuring healthy rhythms from a day in the life of Sesame Street<\/em>\u2019s characters; the Healthy Together<\/em> activity book, with five stand-alone printable activity sheets focused on building and maintaing positive habits as a family; and various articles exploring what \u201chealthy\u201d means to different cultures, small steps that make a big difference and tips for creating routines that last.<\/p>\n Four new storybooks\u2014Abby\u2019s Magical Mistakes<\/em>, Abelardo\u2019s Family Day<\/em>, Elmo\u2019s Exciting Sleep<\/em> and Super Tasters<\/em>\u2014have also been released in English, Spanish, Portugese and Hindi.<\/p>\n In Mexico and Brazil, Sesame Workshop will roll out a 40-activity classroom box set, family micro-learning WhatsApp cards and interactive posters to help track routines and habits.<\/p>\n In India, new Hindi-language resources include a storybook on healthy eating; a yoga posture book; and a calendar, flashcards and interactive games distributed via childcare centers, WhatsApp and the Chalo Sesame Street app.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are delighted to team up with Abbott on our new global program providing children and their families with tools and resources they need to promote healthy habits for mind and body,\u201d said Carolina Casas, VP of global education at Sesame Workshop. \u201cCreating and maintaining a new habit can be challenging at any age, but for young children, the impact of a strong, healthy foundation lasts a lifetime.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHealthy habits are the building blocks of lifelong well-being, and they start early in childhood,\u201d added Melissa Brotz, senior VP of global marketing and external affairs at Abbott and president of Abbott\u2019s philanthropic foundation, Abbott Fund. \u201cAlong with Sesame Workshop, we\u2019re reaching families with resources that fit into real life because small steps to stay healthy, taken early in life, can make a difference in the prevention of chronic illness for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Sesame Workshop has begun a new global program in partnership with Abbott to promote healthy routines for children and their caregivers, beginning with a new 26-minute special on YouTube.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1412,"featured_media":31083,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pmpro_default_level":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[21],"tags":[11834,8859,11835,518],"class_list":["post-31082","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","","category-top-stories","tag-abbott","tag-carolina-casas","tag-melissa-brotz","tag-sesame-workshop","pmpro-has-access"],"yoast_head":"\n
