Hood vs. Evil<\/em> from Kanbar Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p><em>Hoodwinked<\/em> has been unavailable to stream or purchase in recent years. Content Partners\u2019 acquisition will bring the films back to audiences, with Sony Pictures set to distribute both titles in the U.S. and Lionsgate handling international distribution. The new deal also gives Content Partners derivative rights, allowing for the development of sequels, prequels and other related projects within the franchise.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition comes just ahead of the 20th anniversary of <em>Hoodwinked<\/em>, which reimagines the fairy tale of Little Red Riding Hood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe&#8217;re excited to give <em>Hoodwinked<\/em> and<em> Hoodwinked Too!<\/em> a new home as we revive and preserve these beloved films for fans old and new,\u201d said John Mass, president of Content Partners. \u201cThis milestone anniversary is the perfect moment to reintroduce the franchise to audiences, particularly as demand for family-friendly animated content continues to grow in the streaming era.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis franchise broke new ground for indie animation and showcased the creative vision of Maurice Kanbar and the filmmakers,\u201d Mass continued. \u201cWe look forward to working with our distribution partners to honor the legacy of these films while bringing them back into the cultural conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jeffrey Kanbar of Kanbar Entertainment added, \u201cWe selected Content Partners amongst other prospective acquirers because we thought they would do the best to preserve and carry forward my uncle Maurice&#8217;s legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Content Partners has acquired the animated feature films Hoodwinked and Hoodwinked Too!
