Alison Steadman (Gavin & Stacey<\/em>, Life Is Sweet<\/em>) has joined the cast of Stan & Gran<\/em>, represented by Banijay Kids & Family, as Grumblestunk.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is such an honor to be working with the very talented Alison Steadman to bring Stan & Gran<\/em> to life with her unique blend of fun and energy that perfectly captures the character of Grumblestunk,\u201d said Louise Bucknole, senior VP of kids and family for the U.K. and Ireland at Paramount. \u201cIt\u2019s a brilliant performance that is sure to captivate our Milkshake! audience, and we simply can\u2019t wait to share it with them!\u201d<\/p>\n

Stan & Gran<\/em>, created by Jon Mason, is written by Howard Read (Danger Mouse<\/em>, Horrible Histories<\/em>, Deep in the Bowl<\/em>), produced by Peter Griffiths (LEGO: Nexus Knights<\/em>, Rosie\u2019s Rules<\/em>, The Ocean Calls<\/em>) and directed by Simone Giampaolo (Only a Child<\/em>, Bad Dinosaurs<\/em>, The Legends Family Adventure<\/em>, Obki the Eco Alien<\/em>). It is co-produced by Tiger Aspect Kids & Family (part of Banijay Kids & Family), Jollywise and Xentrix Studios.<\/p>\n

The 52×11-minute series follows the adventures of Stan Breakwater, a curious and excitable nature lover, and his fun-loving Gran as they investigate strange happenings in their fictional British coastal village.<\/p>\n

The show is commissioned by 5\u2019s Milkshake! and Nick Jr. UK and is set to launch on Milkshake! on November 10 and on Nick Jr. UK in 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had a lifelong passion for wildlife; I can spend hours watching the birds in my garden,\u201d Steadman said. \u201cSo, when Stan & Gran<\/em> came along, I just fell in love with Porthole and the funny and relatable characters\u2014especially Grumblestunk and her somewhat nefarious ways! The show\u2019s all about being outside and celebrating nature\u2014what\u2019s not to love about that!\u201d<\/p>\n

Mason added, \u201cI’ve long admired Alison Steadman\u2019s talent, from her standout role as Candice Marie in Nuts in May<\/em> to iconic characters like Beverly in Abigail’s Party<\/em> and Pam in Gavin & Stacey<\/em>. When casting for the show, Alison was at the top of our wish list, and we were thrilled when she accepted the role of village bad girl Grumblestunk.
