BBC Children\u2019s and Education has commissioned an adaptation of the children\u2019s novel Dexter Procter: the 10-Year-Old Doctor<\/em> for CBBC, BBC One and BBC iPlayer.<\/p>\n Created and written by Adam Kay (This is Going to Hurt<\/em>), the adaptation will star Cian Eagle-Service in the lead role, alongside Peter Serafinowicz (How To Train Your Dragon<\/em>), Jameela Jamil (The Good Place<\/em>), Mike Wozniak (Taskmaster<\/em>), Konnie Huq (Blue Peter<\/em>) and more.<\/p>\n The cast also features Harry Enfield (Harry Enfield & Chums<\/em>), Sue Johnston (The Royle Family<\/em>), Aroop Shergill, Hugo McGinn, Max Lester, Gemma Whelan, Michelle Gomez, Kieran Hodgson, Ashley McGuire, Pippa Haywood, Jake Canuso and Michelle Greenidge.<\/p>\n The Dexter Procter<\/em> program will feature two 50-minute stand-alone special episodes. It will be executive produced by Adam Kay and James Kay for Terrible Productions; Phil Clarke and Roberto Troni for Various Artists Ltd.; and Amy Buscombe for the BBC. Matt Lipsey (Ted Lasso<\/em>) is directing.<\/p>\n \u201cParents and kids can put down their separate screens to come together to watch Dexter as he navigates the challenges of being a 10-year-old doctor,\u201d said Sarah Muller, senior head of commissioning for 7-plus at BBC Children\u2019s and Education. \u201cThere are plenty of famous faces who will bring laugh-out-loud moments that can be enjoyed across the generations as we bring this drama for the whole family to BBC One later this year.\u201c<\/p>\n Adam Kay commented, \u201cI\u2019m so excited to film this semi-autobiographical story about the world\u2019s cleverest child who became a doctor.
