{"id":29928,"date":"2025-06-18T09:44:20","date_gmt":"2025-06-18T13:44:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/iyanu-to-make-u-k-debut-on-itvx\/"},"modified":"2025-06-18T10:31:39","modified_gmt":"2025-06-18T14:31:39","slug":"iyanu-to-make-u-k-debut-on-itvx","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/iyanu-to-make-u-k-debut-on-itvx\/","title":{"rendered":"Iyanu to Make U.K. Debut on ITVX"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lion Forge Entertainment\u2019s mythological superhero series <em>Iyanu<\/em> is set to debut in the U.K. and Northern Ireland on ITVX on July 3.<\/p>\n<p>All ten episodes of season one, which follows a young orphan living in Yorubaland who awakens divine powers, will be available at launch.<\/p>\n<p>The series is adapted from creator Roye Okupe\u2019s graphic novel series<em> Iyanu: Child of Wonder<\/em>, published by YouNeek Studios and Dark Horse Comics.<\/p>\n<p>Serah Johnson leads the all-African voice cast as Iyanu. She is joined by Nollywood stars Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Blossom Chukwujekwu and Shaffy Bello.<\/p>\n<p>Story editor Brandon Easton (<em>Transformers: War for Cybertron<\/em>, <em>Marvel\u2019s Agent Carter<\/em>) headed the <em>Iyanu<\/em> writers\u2019 room, which also featured Kerri Grant (<em>Doc McStuffins<\/em>; <em>Ada Twist, Scientist<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Executive producers include David Steward II, Stephanie Sperber, Kirsten Newlands and Matt Heath of Lion Forge Entertainment; Okupe of YouNeek Studios; Erica Dupuis of Impact X Capital; Ryan Haidarian of Forefront Media Group; and Doug Schwalbe of Superprod.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Iyanu<\/em> has already captured the imagination of audiences in the U.S., and we\u2019re excited to build on that momentum with ITVX,\u201d said Steward II, founder and CEO of Lion Forge. \u201cThis premiere marks a major step in the franchise\u2019s global journey, and ITV has been an incredible partner in helping us bring this culturally rich, action-packed story to even more viewers.
