The first season will consist of 52 11-minute episodes.<\/p>\n<p>The series was developed by Superprod Animation and is produced in its Paris and Angoul\u00eame studios in France, as well as Red Monk\u2019s studios in Milan, Italy. It is currently in production with Gulli\/M6, Red Monk Studios and Rai.<\/p>\n<p>DeAPlaneta Entertainment holds the media rights for Spain, Portugal and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), as well as the merchandising and brand licensing rights worldwide, excluding the U.S. and French- and Italian-speaking territories. Superights is selling to other territories around the world.<\/p>\n<p><em>Underdog and the Canine Defenders<\/em> is scheduled for a global launch this fall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Underdog<\/em> has all the qualities we look for in our series, with an ingenious and attractive concept that gives a different dimension to the figure of superheroes,\u201d said Carlos Biern, content and media sales director of DeAPlaneta Kids &amp; Family. \u201cWe are very much looking forward to sharing it with audiences, and we are also excited to be working again with Superprod Animation, with whom we share a common vision of family entertainment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cl\u00e9ment Calvet and J\u00e9r\u00e9mie Fajner, co-founders of Superprod Group, added, \u201c<em>Underdog<\/em> aims to be the ideal introductory superhero for young children: a delightfully goofy, genuinely kind dog superhero, backed by an awesome team, who takes on wonderfully mischievous, hilariously wicked supervillains.
