The Youth Media Alliance (YMA) has revealed the nominees for its Awards of Excellence, the winners of which will be announced during a gala on May 28 at CBC\u2019s Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto.<\/p>\n
For best program, live action non-scripted for ages 3 to 5, the nominees are The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy<\/em> (“I Love My Name!”) and Indigenous Art Adventures<\/em> (“Turtle”).<\/p>\n In the same category for live action non-scripted for ages 6 to 9, the nominees are Dream It To Be It<\/em> (“I Dream of Ballet”), Green Squad<\/em> (“Anja”), Trading Skills<\/em> (“Ironworker”) and Old Enough<\/em> (“If You Say So”).<\/p>\n For live action non-scripted for ages 9-plus, the award is between Ainara’s Bookshelf<\/em> (“The Barren Grounds”), Media Stamped<\/em> (“What’s In a Frame”) and All Round Champion<\/em> (“Pickleball”).<\/p>\n In live action scripted for ages 3 to 5, it’s Mittens & Pants<\/em> (“Bunny Family Wedding”), Wordsville<\/em> (“The Case of the Uncompromising Community”) and Odd Squad<\/em> (“Odd Ones In”).<\/p>\n Also in the live action scripted category, for ages 6 to 9, Dino Dex<\/em> (“Chickenosaurus Rex part 1”) is up against Jane<\/em> (“Ursus Maritimus”) and I Woke Up a Vampire<\/em> (“Siblings”).<\/p>\n In the same category but for ages 9-plus, the nominees are Louise Lives Large<\/em> (“Help Jess”), Malory Towers<\/em> (“The Wedding”), Beyond Black Beauty<\/em> (“Feels Like Home”) and Davey & Jonesie\u2019s Locker<\/em> (“The Day the Music Schneid”).<\/p>\n Up for the Award of Excellence for best gaming or interactive experience are Ainara’s Book Club<\/em>, Echo Hunter<\/em> and Dicey Escape<\/em>.<\/p>\n The casts of Wordsville<\/em>, Davey & Jonesie\u2019s Locker<\/em>\u00a0and All Round Champion<\/em> season six are up for the youth ensemble win.<\/p>\n In short form for ages 3 to 5, Jeremy and Jazzy<\/em> (“Hopscotch”), Silly Paws<\/em> (“Starstruck”), Happy Place<\/em> (“The Art Show”\/”Giving Feels Good”\/”Bathtime for Harry”) and Let’s Be Friend<\/em>s<\/em> (“Eitan and Kristen”) are competing. Also in short form, but for ages 6 to 9-plus, the contenders are Armadillo Avalanche<\/em> (“Clem”), Benjamin Ojo<\/em> and Street Cents<\/em> (“Getting Your First Betta Fish”).<\/p>\n In the animation arena, the nominees for ages 3 to 5 are Caillou<\/em> (“Understanding Tina”); Luna, Chip & Inkie: Adventure Rangers Go<\/em> (“Lights!
