{"id":28933,"date":"2025-01-17T09:05:07","date_gmt":"2025-01-17T14:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/sony-india-re-ups-for-oggy-and-the-cockroaches-franchise\/"},"modified":"2025-01-17T13:18:12","modified_gmt":"2025-01-17T18:18:12","slug":"sony-india-re-ups-for-oggy-and-the-cockroaches-franchise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/sony-india-re-ups-for-oggy-and-the-cockroaches-franchise\/","title":{"rendered":"Sony India Re-Ups for Oggy and the Cockroaches Franchise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Xilam Animation has signed a deal renewal with Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) for its flagship comedy franchise <em>Oggy and the Cockroaches<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>SPNI has renewed its agreement for all seasons of the classic <em>Oggy and the Cockroaches<\/em> series for its kids\u2019 channel Sony YAY!, for the brand\u2019s feature film <em>Oggy and the Cockroaches: The Movie<\/em> and for the recently rebooted version <em>Oggy and the Cockroaches: Next Generation<\/em>. The partnership covers a total of 423 episodes and 145 half-hours of content.<\/p>\n<p>A recent study by Glance and BARC found that <em>Oggy and the Cockroaches<\/em> reached over 60 million children in India in the 2-to-14-year-old demographic in the second quarter of 2024, equivalent to one out of four children. Also during this period, the brand represented 67 percent of Sony YAY!\u2019s total viewed hours.<\/p>\n<p>Sony YAY! is the master licensee for merchandising rights for <em>Oggy and the Cockroaches<\/em> in India and has inked its first deal with Navneet for a collection of stationery products, including notebooks and drawing books, stationery sets, art kits and writing pads.<\/p>\n<p>Marc du Pontavice, CEO and founder at Xilam Animation, said, \u201c<em>Oggy and the Cockroaches<\/em> is one of our most beloved global brands, and we\u2019ve seen families across India welcoming Oggy and his friends into their hearts and homes through our wide-ranging collaboration with SPNI.
