BBC Studios has partnered with The Walt Disney Company to develop the first animated feature film for Bluey<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The movie, written and directed by Bluey<\/em> creator Joe Brumm, will be released in cinemas in 2027 under the Disney banner and later stream on Disney+.<\/p>\n

The film will star talent from the show, including Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack, and feature music created by Bluey<\/em> composer Joff Bush.<\/p>\n

The Bluey<\/em> movie is a Ludo Studio production in collaboration with BBC Studios. It is being produced by Amber Naismith (Happy Feet<\/em>, The Lego Movie<\/em>, The Lego Batman Movie<\/em>), with Richard Jeffery returning to co-direct (Bluey<\/em> seasons one through three).<\/p>\n

Brumm is an executive producer alongside Justine Flynn for BBC Studios, with Charlie Aspinwall and Daley Pearson from Ludo Studio. For Disney, the film is being overseen by David Greenbaum, president of Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios, and his team.<\/p>\n

BBC Studios is financing and licensing the movie for distribution. The film is being supported by the Australian government through the Producer Offset and Screen Australia. It is also receiving support from the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland\u2019s Post, Digital and Visual Effects Incentive.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really enjoyed the experience of working with a longer format on \u2018The Sign\u2019 in season three, so going even further with a feature film feels like a natural extension of that,\u201d Brumm said. \u201cI\u2019ve always thought Bluey<\/em> deserved a theatrical movie. I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together. I\u2019m excited to continue to partner with Cecilia Persson, Tom Fussell and the team at BBC Studios, and Dana Walden, Alan Bergman and Disney to bring this new Bluey<\/em> story to the big screen.\u201d<\/p>\n
