However, they soon find out that the rules have changed and their international championship no longer guarantees them a spot in the competition.<\/p>\n<p>When it is also revealed that the studio is struggling financially, the A-Troupe dancers must focus only on regionals in order to keep the studio alive.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Next Step<\/em> is produced by Boat Rocker, with the participation of the Shaw Rocket Fund, and distributed globally by Boat Rocker and BBC Studios.<\/p>\n<p>The series is executive produced by Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier (<em>Dino Ranch<\/em>, <em>Orphan Black: Echoes<\/em>), Shaleen Sangha (<em>Chuck\u2019s Choice<\/em>, <em>Make it Pop<\/em>), Jon Rutherford (<em>Dino Ranch<\/em>, <em>Amber Brown<\/em>) and Nick Nantell (<em>American Rust<\/em>, <em>Orphan Black: Echoes<\/em>). Amy Cole (<em>Odd Squad<\/em>) and Romeo Candido (<em>Son of a Critch<\/em>, <em>Topline<\/em>) serve as showrunners and executive producers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re proud to be expanding this incredible powerhouse franchise with CBBC to make a tenth series,\u201d said Rutherford, president of global rights, franchise and content strategy at Boat Rocker Studios. \u201c<em>The Next Step<\/em> continues to entertain audiences around the world with its compelling mix of friendship, rivalries, teamwork and, of course, incredible choreography.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nantell, executive VP and head of scripted creative at Boat Rocker Studios, added, \u201cWe can\u2019t wait for viewers to watch season ten and continue their journey with A-Troupe.
