{"id":28006,"date":"2024-07-26T09:00:33","date_gmt":"2024-07-26T13:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/worldscreen.com\/"},"modified":"2024-07-26T09:06:20","modified_gmt":"2024-07-26T13:06:20","slug":"aardman-academy-adds-will-becher-to-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/aardman-academy-adds-will-becher-to-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Aardman Academy Adds Will Becher to Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aardman Academy, Aardman\u2019s training facility, has appointed Academy Award-nominated director Will Becher (<em>Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon<\/em>, <em>Creature Comforts<\/em>) as stop motion lead.<\/p>\n<p>Becher, who is currently supervising animator on the upcoming film <em>Wallace &amp; Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl<\/em>, will be responsible for all teaching, learning activities and development relating to stop-motion animation production for both internal animation talent and students studying at the Aardman Academy.<\/p>\n<p>Becher will take up the role on August 1 and will lead the facility\u2019s courses \u201cIn-Studio Stop Motion\u201d and \u201cStop Motion Professional.\u201d Alongside this, he will be across the development and delivery of all stop-motion teaching and learning for bespoke courses and university partnerships, which will include public events and delivering animation masterclasses and special keynotes.<\/p>\n<p>Becher has worked on numerous Aardman projects, including <em>Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon<\/em>, <em>Creature Comforts<\/em>, <em>Wallace &amp; Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit<\/em>, <em>The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists<\/em>, <em>Shaun the Sheep Movie<\/em>, <em>Early Man<\/em> and <em>Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am absolutely delighted to extend a warm welcome to Will Becher as he joins our team!\u201d said Mark Hewis, head of Aardman Academy. \u201cWith a distinguished career in stop-motion animation, Will\u2019s reputation as both a world-leading animator and director precedes him, showcasing his remarkable talent and expertise. Not only is Will an incredible creative force, but his passion for teaching elevates our commitment to providing the very highest level of educational expertise at the Aardman Academy.
