Sky Kids is set to increase the reach of its kids\u2019 news program FYI: For Your Info<\/em> with short videos to be released on social media in addition to the usual weekly show on Sky News.<\/p>\n

The new short news videos will release throughout the week on Sky News\u2019 social platforms, including TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. In addition, the half-hour spin-off FYI Investigates<\/em>, taking a deep dive into important matters that affect kids\u2019 lives, will double its output to four specials per year.<\/p>\n

FYI: For Your Info<\/em> features news reported by young people for young people, covering topical issues such as the general election and climate issues, uncovering exclusives and giving viewers the chance to hear kids\u2019 opinions from across the U.K. on the news of the day. Videos are also sent to thousands of schools for use in the classroom via the Sky Kids and First News Education TV partnership.<\/p>\n

Also as part of the revamp, FYI: For Your Info<\/em> will be partnering with Sky Up Digital Hubs, a Sky initiative that advances digital equity in the most underserved communities across the U.K. by providing reliable internet connection, tech equipment and digital training. Throughout the year, FYI<\/em> will be visiting Digital Hubs across the U.K. to give a platform to young people who traditionally have not talked about the issues that matter most to them.<\/p>\n

Sports videos and other content will air on the Sky Sports News channel.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is fantastic to see FYI<\/em> expand, reaching more children wherever they are accessing information about news and current affairs,\u201d said Lucy Murphy, director of kids\u201d content. \u201cIn an age where children\u2013like adults\u2013are having an increasingly difficult time navigating fake news and misinformation online, the provision of quality news for children and young people on social platforms is an important step forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nicky Cox, CEO of Fresh Start Media, added, \u201cWe are excited that the new format for FYI<\/em> will allow us to react quickly to news as it happens and that we\u2019ll be reaching thousands of schools through First News with FYI<\/em>\u2019s daily video news reports.
