Factory Transmedia, the U.K. animation house behind such shows as the rebooted The Clangers<\/em> and Strange Hill High<\/em>, has entered liquidation.<\/p>\n

The multi-style animation studio has been in business for more than 20 years. It won an Emmy and BAFTA nomination for The Tiny Chef Show<\/em>, with other recent credits that include Norman Picklestripes<\/em> and Scream Street<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Per local reports, the company’s assets will be sold off via an online auction. Conrad Alexander Pearson and Patrick Alexander of Mazars have been appointed as joint liquidators.<\/p>\n

The changes in the kids’ landscape, and a significant downtown in commissions, have taken a toll on the animation production sector. A Mazars spokesperson told the BBC: “Unfortunately, over the last 12 months the number of projects being greenlit by broadcasters around the world has been severely cut as the global economy and audience behaviors have changed markedly. These challenging market conditions were a significant factor in the insolvency of the business.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
