The 2024 Get Animated Business of Animation Conference, running on May 1 and 2, has lined up UK Screen Alliance\u2019s Neil Hatton and the U.K. Department for Business and Trade\u2019s Tendai Chetse to take part in its final business \u201cin conversation\u201d chat.<\/p>\n

Hatton, CEO of UK Screen Alliance, and Chetse, head of creative industries at the Department for Business and Trade, will discuss the future of digital production in the U.K., new tax incentives and the hype and hysteria around generative-AI use in animation and VFX.<\/p>\n

The conference will be taking place at the Millennium Point Conference Centre in Birmingham.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a bittersweet last 18 months,\u201d Hatton said. \u201cSome of the worst trading conditions in living memory for film and TV can now be balanced against renewed optimism as the industry has won a basket of new tax incentives to drive digital production in the U.K.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chetse added, \u201cThe creativity and storytelling developed and inspired by U.K. animation is loved and admired globally. Amidst the backdrop of a challenging year for the screen sectors as a whole, the U.K. is nonetheless home to some of the most exciting creators, studios and VFX companies anywhere in the world.
