{"id":26862,"date":"2024-02-05T09:21:08","date_gmt":"2024-02-05T14:21:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/9-story-media-group-acquires-portfolio-entertainment\/"},"modified":"2024-02-05T10:54:45","modified_gmt":"2024-02-05T15:54:45","slug":"9-story-media-group-acquires-portfolio-entertainment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/9-story-media-group-acquires-portfolio-entertainment\/","title":{"rendered":"9 Story Media Group Acquires Portfolio Entertainment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>9 Story Media Group has acquired Portfolio Entertainment\u2019s library, production slate and development projects, with co-founder Lisa Olfman taking on an executive producer role.<\/p>\n<p>The Portfolio distribution library features over 550 half-hours of content, which includes <em>The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!<\/em>, <em>Hero Elementary<\/em>, <em>Addison<\/em> and <em>Carl Squared<\/em>. The acquisition brings 9 Story\u2019s total distribution library to nearly 5,000 half-hours.<\/p>\n<p>Olfman, who co-founded Portfolio in 1991 with the late Joy Rosen, will join 9 Story in an executive producer role. She will report to 9 Story\u2019s president and CEO, Vince Commisso.<\/p>\n<p>Olfman will continue to oversee all active Portfolio projects and look to broaden 9 Story\u2019s opportunities across key business areas.<\/p>\n<p>Lauren Evans-Bell, associate producer at Portfolio, will also be joining as a development manager and associate producer at 9 Story, working with Olfman to shepherd the Portfolio development and production properties forward.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the agreement, 9 Story takes over production on <em>Breaking Bear<\/em>, an adult animated series currently in preproduction with Cartel Entertainment and Tom DeLonge\u2019s To the Stars for Tubi. 9 Story also takes on Portfolio\u2019s slate of development projects, including those in active development with broadcasters. <em>Breaking Bear<\/em> and broadcaster-led development projects will be led by Olfman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are so pleased to be working with Lisa to bring the Portfolio library and current slates under the 9 Story umbrella,\u201d said Commisso. \u201cLisa and Joy created an incredible legacy of entertainment properties, and we are honored to continue this work in partnership with Lisa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am excited to join creative forces with the 9 Story team,\u201d said Olfman. \u201c9 Story has the talent, creative excellence, and robust infrastructure to best elevate the Portfolio properties for the global market.
