The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) has revealed the nominations for the second annual Children\u2019s & Family Emmy Awards.<\/p>\n
Nominees in the interactive media category\u2014judged in person\u2014will be announced later this month, as will honorees in the individual achievement in animation and the newly created public-service initiative categories.<\/p>\n
The nominees for the preschool series category are Blue’s Clues & You!<\/em> from Nickelodeon, Sesame Street<\/em> from HBO Max, Waffles + Mochi’s Restaurant<\/em> from Netflix and Helpsters<\/em> and Slumberkins<\/em> from Apple TV+. Are You Afraid of the Dark<\/em> from Nickelodeon, Malory Towers<\/em> from BYUtv, The Muppets Mayhem<\/em> from Disney+ and Best Foot Forward<\/em> and Jane<\/em> from Apple TV+ are nominated for the children’s or family viewing series category.<\/p>\n Nominees for the young teen series category are <\/span>The Crossover<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Ghostwriter<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>High School Musical: The Musical: The Series<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>The Mysterious Benedict Society <\/span><\/i>and<\/span> XO, Kitty<\/span><\/i>. Three of the nominees are from Disney+.<\/span><\/p>\n Fiction special contenders are <\/span>Chang Can Dunk<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock\u2014Night of the Lights<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Ivy and Bean: Doomed to Dance<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Prom Pact<\/span><\/i>. The non-fiction program category contenders are\u00a0<\/span>1000% Me: Growing Up Mixed<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>All-Round Champion<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Mamas<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>NBC Nightly News: Kids Edition<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Nick News<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n Nominees for the preschool animated series include The Adventures of Paddington<\/em>, Spirit Rangers<\/em>, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures<\/em>, StoryBots: Answer Time<\/em> and The Tiny Chef Show<\/em>, which has just been renewed for a second season by Nickelodeon.<\/span><\/p>\n Also in animation, the nominees for children’s or young teen animated series are Baymax!<\/em>, Big City Greens<\/em>, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur<\/em>, ONI: Thunder God’s Tale<\/em> and Zootopia+<\/em>. All the series for this category hail from Disney+ and Disney Channel, besides ONI: Thunder God’s Tale<\/em>, which is from Netflix. Contenders for best animated special are Looney Tunes Cartoons<\/em>, Bugs Bunny\u2019s Howl-O-Skreem Spooktacular<\/em>, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur: Moon Girl Landing<\/em>, Reindeer in Here<\/em>, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie<\/em>, Snoopy Presents: Lucy’s School<\/em> and The Wonderful Summer of Mickey Mouse<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n Short-form program nominees are The Big Gathering<\/em>, I Am Groot<\/em>, Sesame Street: Wes’ First Barbershop Haircut<\/em>, Sesame Street’s #ComingTogether Word of the Day Series<\/em> and Storyline Online<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n Tim Allen, Ella Bright, Veda Cienfuegos, Tony Hale and Gina Rodriguez are nominated to win the lead performance in a preschool, children\u2019s or young teen program, while the nominees for the supporting performance category for preschool, children\u2019s or young teen programs are Adeel Akhtar, Nonso Anozie, Kal Penn, Neil Sandilands and Catherine Zeta-Jones. The actors are mainly from Netflix and Apple TV+ programs, with a few from Disney Channel, HBO Max, Nickelodeon and Hulu.<\/span><\/p>\n Tabitha Brown, who rose to notoriety through her TikTok platform, is a nominee in the host category for her YouTube Original show Tab Time<\/em>. More nominees in the category include Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman (Kids Baking Championship<\/em>); Emmanuel Carter (Noggin Knows<\/em>); Taylor Cassidy, Benjamin de Almedia, Kahlil Green, Tejas Hullur, Jane McManus and Jillian Smith (Nick News<\/em>); and Juanpa Zurita (Elmo\u2019s Mindfulness Spectacular!<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n More categories and nominees have been released for writing, directing, puppetry, voice performances, editing and more.
