{"id":25212,"date":"2023-06-01T09:12:12","date_gmt":"2023-06-01T13:12:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/spellbound-greenlit-season-two\/"},"modified":"2023-06-01T09:12:12","modified_gmt":"2023-06-01T13:12:12","slug":"spellbound-greenlit-for-season-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/spellbound-greenlit-for-season-two\/","title":{"rendered":"Spellbound Greenlit for Season Two"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The live-action tween series <em>Spellbound<\/em> has been greenlit for a second season, with 13 new episodes to come.<\/p>\n<p>The new season is produced by Cottonwood Media in co-production with ZDF, ZDF Studios and Op\u00e9ra national de Paris, with negotiations underway with further broadcast partners.<\/p>\n<p>The series combines ballet, magic, witchcraft and more, with diversity and inclusivity at the heart of the production. <em>Spellbound<\/em> follows the captivating adventures of American teenager Cece Parker Jones who relocates to France to study dance at the Paris Opera Ballet School, only to discover she is also a \u2018Wizen,\u2019 a witch with untapped potential, and has to navigate the challenges of her new life\u2014balancing friendship, romance, dance and her newfound powers.<\/p>\n<p>Federation Kids &amp; Family and ZDF Studios are handling worldwide sales.<\/p>\n<p>Co-founders of Cottonwood Media, David Michel, C\u00e9cile Lauritano and Zo\u00e9 Carrera Allaix, said: \u201cAs with all our live-action series, we have pooled a team of creatives who have also worked on award-winning primetime series, bringing a unique quality and feel to the production. With its stunning visual graphics, entertaining storylines, vibrant characters and season one ending on the edge of a real cliffhanger, we look forward to the <em>Spellbound<\/em> adventure continuing to work its magic on audiences worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nicole Keeb, head of international co-productions and acquisitions for children and youth programs at ZDF, commented: \u201cWe are delighted to see the story of <em>Spellbound<\/em> continue.
