{"id":25078,"date":"2023-05-04T10:05:13","date_gmt":"2023-05-04T14:05:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/studio-100-film-adds-north-animation-slate\/"},"modified":"2023-05-04T10:05:13","modified_gmt":"2023-05-04T14:05:13","slug":"studio-100-film-adds-north-to-animation-slate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/studio-100-film-adds-north-to-animation-slate\/","title":{"rendered":"Studio 100 Film Adds North to Animation Slate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Studio 100 Film has acquired the Norwegian CGI film <em>North<\/em>, produced by PictoryLand, for sales outside of Scandinavia.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen\u2019s fairy tale <em>The Snow Queen<\/em>, the new film\u00a0follows the journey of Gerda, a young girl who embarks on a dangerous mission to save her best friend from the Snow Queen.<\/p>\n<p>The film is being directed by Bente Lohne and produced by Haakon Gundersen (<em>Flight of the Navigator<\/em>, <em>Free Jimmy<\/em>). Pixar Animation co-founder Ralph Guggenheim (<em>Toy Story<\/em>) is a consulting producer. <em>North<\/em> is set for delivery in Q4 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a long tradition in animation of taking classic stories from the past and re-telling them in new ways for a new generation,\u201d Guggenheim said. \u201c<em>North<\/em>\u00a0takes its inspiration from Hans Christian Andersen\u2019s <em>The Snow Queen<\/em>, as a contemporary adventure for family audiences everywhere. I am thrilled to be working with PictoryLand and Studio 100 on this exciting new project!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thorsten Wegener, head of business operations at Studio 100 Film, said, \u201cWe feel extremely inspired to add <em>North<\/em> to our slate and introduce audiences to the magical world of Gerda and the Snow Queen.
