CAKE, King Banana TV and Paper Owl Films are teaming up for the 2D animated family sitcom Nikhil & Jay<\/em> for CBeebies.<\/p>\n

Based on award-winning author Chitra Soundar\u2019s book series Nikhil and Jay<\/em>, the stories are inspired by her own dual heritage family of British and South Asian heritage. The 52×11-minute series\u00a0tells the adventures of two young brothers whose mom is Indian by heritage and dad is English.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

The series will be produced for CBeebies by King Banana TV (<\/span>Yakka Dee!<\/i>, Meet the Experts<\/i>), Paper Owl Films (Pablo<\/i>, Happy the Hoglet<\/i><\/span>) and CAKE (Angry Birds Summer Madness<\/i>,\u00a0Supa Team 4<\/i>), with <\/span>funding from Northern Ireland Screen<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

CAKE\u00a0<\/span>will handle distribution rights and will be selling the series internationally.<\/span><\/p>\n

The characters are designed by Chris Allen, the talent behind the design of Yakka Dee!<\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
