The Welsh series SuperTed<\/em>, which is celebrating its 40th year, is relaunching on the kids\u2019 AVOD channel Kabillion.<\/p>\n

The original 40-year-old fully animated production was recently revised through a technical up-resolution process and reformatted to meet modern-day television requirements.<\/p>\n

In celebration of SuperTed<\/em>\u2019s anniversary and Welsh heritage, one full episode will be included in the Welsh language.<\/p>\n

The show was originally commissioned by the Welsh-language S4C from Cardiff-based Siriol Animation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the rebirth of a wonderful character who will now be introduced internationally to a completely new age demographic,\u201d said Francesca O’Keeffe, managing director of Petalcraft Demonstrations, the SuperTed<\/em>\u00a0rights-owning company.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m delighted that this iconic series, originally commissioned by S4C 40 years ago, gave Welsh children such pleasure in the past and now has the opportunity to entertain a new audience of young viewers,\u201d said Sioned Geraint, S4C\u2019s content commissioner for children and education.<\/p>\n
