Eagle Eye Drama has set up a new animation production company: Eaglet Films.<\/p>\n
The scripted production company behind hits such as Professor T<\/em> (ITV), Suspect<\/em> (Channel 4), Hotel Portofino<\/em> (ITV) and Before We Die<\/em> (Channel 4) has teamed up with Creative Director Massimo Fenati (Clown<\/em>, Terry Pratchett\u2019s The Abominable Snow Baby<\/em>, Quentin Blake\u2019s Box of Treasures<\/em>) and Executive Producer Tess Cuming (Terry Pratchett\u2019s The Abominable Snow Baby<\/em>, Quentin Blake\u2019s Box of Treasures<\/em>) to set up the new venture.<\/p>\n Eaglet Films will be based in London and will be producing a wide range of animation series, films and specials using the wealth of talent based in the U.K. and across Europe.<\/p>\n Eagle Eye Drama\u2019s chief creative officer, Jo McGrath, said: \u201cOur core aspiration when we set up Eagle Eye was to break exciting new talent into the U.K. production community, so we were always very keen to diversify and broaden our portfolio to encompass children\u2019s and family programming. Our successful foray into animated Christmas specials has been rapidly expanding into a substantial animation slate which now encompasses a major six-part BBC series and a movie development, so it made perfect sense to create a new venture under the visionary creative leadership of Massimo Fenati to allow this burgeoning side of the company to truly flourish and reach its full potential.\u201d<\/p>\n Fenati said: \u201cMy collaboration with Eagle Eye started just over two years ago, but it feels like a long time as we\u2019ve achieved so much. At the start of the Covid outbreak, when all drama productions ground to a halt, I suggested to the three founding partners that Eagle Eye should dip its toe into animation, as that allows for remote working. Only a month later, our first production was greenlit. Since then, it\u2019s been a wonderful ride that has brought us more commissions, funded developments, adaptations of work by exciting authors such as Quentin Blake and Terry Pratchett, and even a Children\u2019s BAFTA nomination for Julie Walters, the star of our most recent production.
