{"id":23705,"date":"2022-08-31T08:56:49","date_gmt":"2022-08-31T12:56:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/cake-partners-kukua-super-sema\/"},"modified":"2022-08-31T11:53:35","modified_gmt":"2022-08-31T15:53:35","slug":"cake-partners-with-kukua-on-super-sema","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/cake-partners-with-kukua-on-super-sema\/","title":{"rendered":"CAKE Partners with Kukua on Super Sema"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CAKE has entered into a partnership with the female-led studio Kukua on <em>Super Sema<\/em>, an African animated kids\u2019 superhero franchise.<\/p>\n<p>Executive produced by Oscar winner Lupita Nyong\u2019o (<em>12 Years a Slave<\/em>, <em>Black Panther<\/em>, <em>Us<\/em>), <em>Super Sema<\/em> follows the world-changing, STEAM-fueled adventures of a brave and heroic 10-year-old girl, Sema, and her twin brother as they protect their African village from the villainous Tobor and his bungling robot army.<\/p>\n<p><em>Super Sema<\/em> is written by four-time BAFTA winner Claudia Lloyd (<em>Charlie &amp; Lola<\/em>, <em>Mr. Bean<\/em>, <em>Tinga Tinga Tales<\/em>). The YouTube Originals series first launched on International Women\u2019s Day in March 2021, with a second season premiering in June this year.<\/p>\n<p>CAKE is on board as international distributor.<\/p>\n<p>Ed Galton, CEO at CAKE, said, \u201c<em>Super Sema<\/em> encourages and inspires children to reach their potential and make the most of their abilities.
