The second season of the live-action drama First Day<\/em> is headed to Japan in a deal between the Australian Children\u2019s Television Foundation and NHK.<\/p>\n

The series is scheduled to air on NHK on Sundays at 7:25 p.m. starting from October 16. It marks the first time the second season will be broadcast in Asia.<\/p>\n

First Day<\/em> tells the story of Hannah, a transgender girl starting high school. Season two of First Day<\/em> premiered to Australian audiences on ABC ME and in the U.S. on Hulu earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The Australian Children\u2019s Television Foundation distributes the series to all other international markets.<\/p>\n

Takako Hayashi, senior producer at the content value development center at NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation), said: \u201cThe Japanese audience has been waiting a long time to meet Hannah, Olivia, Natalie and Jasmine again. We are very privileged to bring the second season of First Day<\/em> to our channel. Hannah’s story has been shown in many primary and junior schools across Japan, and we hope that this new season will again inspire not only children but parents and teachers alike.\u201d<\/p>\n
