{"id":23370,"date":"2022-06-27T08:57:47","date_gmt":"2022-06-27T12:57:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/lil-critter-workshop-sets-u-k-animation-studio\/"},"modified":"2022-06-27T11:52:27","modified_gmt":"2022-06-27T15:52:27","slug":"lil-critter-workshop-sets-up-u-k-animation-studio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvkids\/lil-critter-workshop-sets-up-u-k-animation-studio\/","title":{"rendered":"Lil Critter Workshop Sets Up U.K. Animation Studio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Malaysian animation house Lil Critter Workshop (LCW) is expanding its global footprint with the establishment of an animation studio in the U.K.<\/p>\n<p>LCW\u2019s new Bristol-based studio will focus on developing the company\u2019s own IP, working with creative talent, studios and co-production partners in the U.K. and across Europe.\u00a0It is led by Walid Omar, LCW\u2019s co-founder and executive producer.<\/p>\n<p>The studio will be looking to recruit both senior development executives and creative staff as well as working with freelance writers and IP owners to work in collaboration with its established team in Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p>Omar said: \u201cThe U.K. is the natural home for our expanded business\u2014not only was I raised and spent much of my formative career there, but the U.K. has a vast array of creative talent that we want to work with to build our slate of original IP. We are also keen to collaborate with other U.K. studios as a production partner. We hope that our fusion of talent and ideas combined with U.K. voices will enable us to create and tell stories that are full of energy, bold and fun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>LCW\u2019s roster includes <em>Hogie the Globehopper<\/em> and <em>Buck &amp; Buddy<\/em>. The company also has a slate of projects in development.
