Sixteen South Originals has unveiled the trailer and first episode for its new comedy series The Coop Troop<\/em>.<\/p>\n

A co-production with Mikros Animation IP (formerly Technicolor Animation Productions) along with France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions in France and Tencent Video in China, The Coop Troop<\/em> was co-created by Sixteen South\u2019s Colin Williams and the children\u2019s author and illustrator Alex T. Smith.<\/p>\n

The 52×11-minute comedy marks Sixteen South\u2019s first show for an older age group (5 to 9) and its first CGI animated series.<\/p>\n

The Coop Troop<\/em> features the exploits of a gang of five unlikely heroes: hyperactive rabbit Maggie, eccentric inventor Flo the chicken, bon vivant swine Clive, excitable lamb Billy and enigmatic egg Jo d\u2019Oeuf. Their mission is to help any animal with a problem\u2014and they\u2019re kept very busy by the precious, pampered pets of neighboring town Animauville.<\/p>\n

The series is set to debut on France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions and Tencent Video in 2023 and has been produced in Northern Ireland and France.<\/p>\n

Colin Williams, creative director at Sixteen South, said: \u201cWe can\u2019t wait to introduce the audience at Annecy to our motley group of furry, feathery and woolly rescuers. The Coop Troop<\/em> is our retro homage to classic TV series of the ’70s and ’80s like The A-Team<\/em> and we are very excited to hear what viewers make of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sandrine Nguyen, senior VP of episodic and IP at Mikros Animation IP, said: \u201cWe\u2019ve had great fun collaborating with Sixteen South and Tencent on this wildly funny and appealing series. Our bunch of heroes shows how you can solve any problem with friendship and teamwork, which is a great message for today\u2019s kids and one that we hope will resonate across the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
