Hannah experiences all the excitement and fear associated with this transition, but her first day is even more significant: it\u2019s the first day she will wear a girl\u2019s uniform to school and go by her chosen name rather than the boy\u2019s name she was given at birth.<\/p>\n<p><em>First Day<\/em> is produced by Epic Films in association with KOJO Entertainment for ABC TV, with investment from Screen Australia in association with the South Australian Film Corporation, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and the Australian Children\u2019s Television Foundation (ACTF). ACTF distributes <em>First Day<\/em> internationally.<\/p>\n<p>Broadcasters that have already acquired the series include France\u00a0T\u00e9l\u00e9visions (France), NHK (Japan), Hulu (U.S.), CBC (Canada), NRK (Norway), Yle (Finland), DR TV (Denmark), SVT (Sweden), HOT TV (Israel), RTE (Ireland), SABC (South Africa), NPO (Netherlands) and Canal Futura (Brazil).<\/p>\n<p>The broadcast rights for the second season have recently become available through the ACTF and have already been acquired by SVT (Sweden), Yle (Finland) and Canal Futura (Brazil), with more sales to be announced soon. Season two premiered on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and on Hulu in the U.S. earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>ACTF CEO Jenny Buckland said: \u201c<em>First Day<\/em> is a special and important story about inclusion, diversity, resilience and friendship.
