TELEPOOL\u2019s Global Screen has picked up The School of Magical Animals 2<\/em>, a sequel to the film based on Margit Auer\u2019s best-selling children\u2019s books.<\/p>\n

In the live-action adventure sequel, set to premiere at the March\u00e9 du Film in Cannes, the students of the school of magical animals attempt to put on a musical. The film is a co-production between Kordes & Kordes Film Sued, LEONINE Studios and Lightburst Pictures.<\/p>\n

The School of Magical Animals 2<\/em> will be released by LEONINE in Germany in fall 2022. Global Screen will distribute the film internationally.<\/p>\n

This warmhearted cinema adventure for the whole family is based on Margit Auer\u2019s wonderful novels, which have sold more than 8 million copies in German-speaking countries alone,\u201d said Julia Weber, head of international acquisitions and sales at Global Screen. \u201cThe essence of these much-loved books has been beautifully interpreted with impressive visuals into an exceptional family-entertainment film with universal themes of friendship and teamwork. We are delighted to have secured the rights for this second iteration of The School of Magical Animal<\/em>s, which has a budget of more than $13 million, even higher than the prequel. We firmly believe it will be as successful as its prequel, which was the highest-grossing German film of 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n
