The kids\u2019 content sessions on the MIPTV agenda last week were firmly focused on what\u2019s next in the business, from Moonbug Entertainment CEO Rene Rechtman\u2019s keynote address on fan engagement and the creator economy to Dubit\u2019s presentation on opportunities in the metaverse.<\/p>\n

The market also served as a platform for several distributors to announce content sales deals, including ZDF Studios and Federation Kids & Family, which kicked off the week with a slew of sales on the Egyptology-themed live-action adventure series <\/a>Theodosia<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The BBC has signed up for the show, along with Salto, France TV, Quebecor, OSN, Dreamia (Biggs Channel) and NPO. Katharina Pietzsch, director of Junior at ZDF Studios, who brokered the deal with the BBC, said: \u201cAfter our hugely successful collaboration with the BBC colleagues on previous projects such as\u00a0Wolfblood<\/em>,\u00a0Heirs of the Night<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Worst Witch<\/em>, we are very excited to partner with them on\u00a0Theodosia<\/em>\u00a0as well. We also welcomed broadcaster NPO on board and are convinced that the Dutch children will love the series just as much as we do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dandelooo announced an agreement with France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions for <\/a>Jasmine & Jambo<\/em><\/a> from Barcelona-based Teidees and Televisi\u00f3 de Catalunya, while APC Kids clinched new international deals<\/a> for the live-action family series Go Green with the Grimwades<\/em> and the brand-new 2D animated show\u00a0Zoe & Milo<\/em>. Odin\u2019s Eye Animation landed slots for\u00a0<\/a>The Beachbuds<\/em><\/a>\u00a0with Disney Japan and ABC Australia. The week also saw Superights align with the toy company VTech for the international distribution rights to <\/a>Go! Go! Cory Carson<\/em><\/a>, a preschool series based on VTech\u2019s Go! Go! Smart Wheels line of electronic toy vehicles and playsets.<\/p>\n

Commissions that made headlines last week included BBC ordering <\/a>Quentin Blake\u2019s Box of Treasures<\/em><\/a>, a box set of specials based on six of Sir Quentin Blake\u2019s best-selling books, from Eagle Eye Drama.<\/p>\n

On the L&M front, meanwhile, 9 Story Brands and Retail Monster signed on new licensing partners in the U.K. for <\/a>Karma\u2019s World<\/em><\/a>, and WildBrain CPLG said it is building out its global footprint with expansion across the Asia-Pacific region<\/a> and the launch of new dedicated offices in Singapore, Taipei and Seoul.<\/p>\n
